The Soggy Horror Party @ Soggy Dollar Bar!

DSC00640~ Are you READY?! ~

This Saturday, January 14, Soggy's BIGGEST and most unforgettable theme party goes down: The Soggy Horror party. For more than 11 years, Soggy's "Soggy Horror Show" has been a great success from the beginning, getting bigger and bigger with every year. Who knows what can happen this year?! The party is based on the Rocky Horror Picture show where everyone gets dressed as the characters.

Some Rocky Horror info:

You've been searching on the internet and looking for ideas for your costumes. Good for you to know is that "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" is the 1975 film adaptation of the British musical stage play "The Rocky Horror Show" written by Richard O'Brien. The film is a parody of science fiction and B-movie horror films. Director Jim Sharman collaborated on the screenplay with O'Brien, who wrote both the book and lyrics for the stage. A loving couple, a few lost monsters and a sweet transvestite from transsexual Transylvania sing and dance through a campy, sloppy salute to horror movies and sexual liberation.

After beginning as a small, offbeat London stage production, Rocky Horror's big screen release has since become the ultimate doctrine of decadence, with a timeless rock-'n'-roll soundtrack that defies comparison. Tim Curry stars as the deviant and devious Doctor Frank-N-Furter, an alien from Transsexual Transylvania. Homespun couple Brad and Janet, portrayed by Barry Bostwick (Spin City) and Susan Sarandon (Dead Man Walking), happen upon Furter's castle on the eve of the unveiling of his new creation, Rocky, his personal Adonis.

Fellow Transsexual Transylvanians include butler Riff Raff (screenwriter Richard O'Brien), Magenta the maid (Patricia Quinn), and Columbia the groupie (Nell Campbell). Charles Gray appears as the narrator/criminologist and a pre-superstardom Meat Loaf delivers as ex-delivery boy Eddie. The film's popularity quickly matured as a subculture of midnight shows, and audience participation emerged. Employing the best-loved elements of kitschy thrillers and B-grade science fiction, this bizarre and fun-filled twist on love and inhibition continues to transcend generations a quarter century later.

If you are looking for a wild time, then this party is IT; remember that the costumes make it. On the ones and twos: DJ Bossman. This is indeed a night not to miss. So, guys & gals, get your sexy fishnet stockings out, put on some ridiculously high heels and don't forget the outrageous wigs to top it off. It's going to be one awesome sight to see.

There will be a special price on Absolut drinks all night. Dress to impress 'cause there will be free Cafe Patron and Absolut shots for everyone in costume and prizes for best dressed Queen and Mr. Queen; this Saturday, January 14, at Soggy Dollar Bar in Simpson Bay.
